My brother just bought a 2011 duramx,, has about 3000 miles on

it, It started making a kinda clicking noise, and is erratic, as it

seems to be more when it has some heat in it, i have narrowed it

down to the converter, flexplate area, not sure if it has a cracked

flexplate or what, my question is has any one had a similar noise

in a 2011, or even an older model with this typed of noise??

thanks for any info,

Ron

the converter bolts look tight..., by the way, how the heck would you tighten them any way, you have to pull the starter?

it's under warranty anyway, but just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas or had the same thing, if so what was it?

under warranty doesnt carry the same clout as it did years ago with GM. my last new dually purchase from them was in 2001. @ 17k miles it developed a vibration between 75-80 mph. i used a chassis ear to pinpoint it to the transfer case. the GM reps stand was it was good to 70mph. so they refused to repair it. then i had the "common" piston slap develop. GM gave me a 100k/7 yr powertrain warranty(which is almost useless) . told me if it started to use more than 3qts of oil between oil changes NOT towing ...they would replace the short block. i called it a duramix...runs on gas...sounds like a diesel...will be a dodge man next time...
