A buddy of mine got the dreaded "low oil pressure" warning yesterday evening, but he was conveniently going by my shop when it happened so that was a plus...how bad is the "oil sending unit/lifter filter" to change? Do you *have* to pull the intake? Any tips/tricks?

Don't have to pull the intake. It's not too bad to do.

reach up/over/behind intake and use swivel and oil pressure switch socket. Use a pick to get the filter out. Easy.

This. Sockets are cheap to buy if you dont have one. There is 2 kinds a short socket and a longer. I just bought both but you will need the shorter one

06' shouldn't have the filter. That is only on active fuel management engines. No, you don't have to pull the intake to access the sensor.

This⬆⬆ And it literally takes 5 minutes to remove the upper plenum plus the gaskets are usually reuseable.
