ive got a 1997 ford explorer 5.0 awd that sometimes wont start after it is shut off after warming up...no codes and no other symptoms..runs great otherwise. any ideas or experience with a concern like this?

Does your Explorer at least try to start?

I had a '97 XLT, suffered the same issue at 55K miles. In my case, it turned out to be a bad coil pack.

Ford idle valves can do some weird shit. I've had a bunch that went bad, but only one made it hard to restart. Bad IAC won't throw a code.

after hooking up an NGS scan tool, there is a memory code of p0230 which is a fuel pump primary cicuit fault. i think i am going to try a fuel pump relay first

Does it have a remote starter? Starting to see alot of those take a shit, and not allow the vehicle to start, intermitantly.

this vehicle has no alarms, remote start, or even PATS...
