Figured I would post this up here. I built this engine for my 98 Camaro, I will be running a Tranzilla T56 behind it. Mostly a street car for now. I machined and assembled the engine, Nate at One-Guys-Garage did the Turbo kit.

Went with the destroked setup to try something different, wanted to turn a little more RPM for fun.

In a previous dyno session it made 1092hp/750ft lbs. The boost was creeping, so both peaks were @ 7600 RPM. Possibly a combination of the wastegate angle, and the wastegate was too small, the boost to crept from 10psi to 20psi by the end of the run. Dyno'd it again with Nate's turbo kit that had an optimal WG angle. It still wouldn't hold under 14 psi. Got some good pulls in at 16 psi, and got some various bugs worked out anyways. Ran out of dyno time to turn it up any more for some hero pulls, but I plan on running around 22-23psi in the car. Naturally aspirated, the engine made 500hp/430ft lbs. So I am seeing around 31HP per PSI of boost. Running on E70 winter blend fuel for this pull, will be on E85 in the summer.

Engine specs:
Destroked 6.0L = 5.4L, 332 cubic inch
9.6:1 Compression
LS3 Heads, ported by myself
LS3 intake
6.0L LQ9 block .020" over
4.8L 3.276" stoke crank with an LME billet 24x reluctor wheel
Callies Compstar H beam SBC 6.300" rods
Custom coated Diamond 4.020" -4cc pistons
Comp 239/243 .623/.623 116+4 cam
Morel link bar lifters
PRC EHT springs
3/8" 7.350 pushrods

Turbo kit:
Precision PT8847 .96 a/r T4
GM manifolds
4" downpipe
CX Racing intercooler
RPS 50mm BOV
Precision 46mm WG (too small for less than 14psi)

Couple pics of the build.

LME Billet one piece reluctor wheel installation on the 4.8 crank.

Balancing it up, it was actually really close to factory balance, just had to drill very little since this rotating assembly is lighter than factory stuff.

Gapping rings. Total seal AP steel top, napier second.

Callies H beam 6.300 SBC rods, Diamond Casidium coated pins

Coated pistons, and Morel link bar lifters.

Ceramic coated heads

LS3 intake with holley fuel rails, magnafuel BRFPR, and FIC1000's

I think this is the most exciting build i have seen in a while. Are you gonna try to push it a little harder? When is track time to see if it is going to perform as well as the numbers. Although, could be tough with the standard trans.

Why the hi rise liljohn? Because its more of an rpm combo?

Just curious.

Bad ass build and #s!
Plenum volume. The Hi Ram has 315ish ci of it. Way more than that stock intake.

I'll answer that for Jakson.

Its a Magnafuel 9950-B in black. One of the nicest EFI boost referenced regulators out there and most dont know you can get it in black instead of MF's sweet purple.
9950-B-BLK found it on ebay, thanks.
