10wt engine oil for torquing bolts?

639 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Radical540
All I have is some 10wt engine oil in the shop and I was wondering if it makes that much of a difference on the torque specs from 30 wt engine oil????

Also I have Crower severe duty shaft mounted roller rockers, that I'm mounting on Brodix BBC alum. heads, is 45 lbs too much for the 5/16ths shaft bolts?

Trying to get accurate information. Seems like everyone is different.

Thanx

Mike

Go to the store and buy some oil..
28 ft/lbs on the 5/16 NUTS that hold the rockers down to the stand
60 ft;lbs for the 7/16 BOLTS that hold the rocker stand to the head
