I was reading through your specs for sc1 headed engine. We dynoed a sb2.2 headed single 4 barrel that is 4.200x3.800 with 6.125 x2.00 pin steel rod.Its in iron eagle block with jesel key lifters. It made 1006hp at 8200rpm and 711 ftlbs at 6600.These heads have 2.250 and 1.580 ex.They do 440s .950 lift.We have engine on dyno and it has sheetmetal intake with single top ,It made these numbers this way with 1400cfm carb on maximal fuel.We are going to try it with 2 carbs and then we are going to try 2 other tops i made for single dom.with oxy-gas.I thought we we would do 1050 easy and at higher rpm.Good luck with your project/maybe i should give you all engine specs and then you will know for sure what wont make 1100hp.lol

Well, unfortunatley there's nothing in your listed specs that dictate 1000, or 1050.

You should talk to JTS, Extreme or Slawko and or Butch Kemp on their 1100 hp SB2. I don't know the details but there is some threads here on it.... and from the sounds of things it wasn't just a bolt together engine.

They were running SBX heads.... don't know if they still do or what? I'm not even sure of the rules. Thought I saw a billet Pro Stock head someone posted.

Don Losito at Ultra Pro Machine makes billet heads for both the SBC and SBF. I know of several Australian P/S teams that run his heads.

Didnt say this thing was a world record setting piece .We worked on this thing for a about a year.I was stating how disappointed we were in it.I see guys all the time saying there doing 1100hp on 400 in.Im stating thats tough and 1006 is along way from 1100.....

Didnt see anything in your specs that dictate 1100hp at 9800rpm either so i dont get your point?

That wasn't my point.

My point was that the criteria you listed, didn't indicate whether it was a 950 hp engine, or an 1100 hp engine. Not a slam against anything you listed....

I would say you need to look at your inlet design from plenum to chamber, and your cam design.... those are what will have the big influence on your power numbers.

Nor did I have any intentions to provide any specs, to indicate such. I wasn't wondering why my engine didn't make 1050 hp.

You provided specs, such as .950 lift, and .937 lifters, and a 2.250 valve, and 1400 cfm carb.

That does not indicate the capability of the engine in any way.
