There is a "rumour" that fuel in Chatam/Strathroy area has went to $2.50 a litre, $10.00 a US gallon. Has cause some concerns up here. I have been online checking prices as it doesn't show as yet. But it does show a $3.00 per liter ($12.00 gallon) in Sudbury. Just a heads up if this thing in Texas is serious. John 8)

Chris, that's exactly why when my wife and I bought the new car last year, I wanted ONE that was great on gas. So we bought a Mazda 3. It's over 40 MPG and I drive about 35 min. each way to the shop. Tell your buddy I haven't been able to find the high priced gas yet, but what was .98 cents a litre here 3 days ago is now 104.5 today. Will be back on "THE REZ" for the cheap indian gas, .77 cents a litre. 8)

Chris, I know it's tuff, heck I'm about to embark on a 3500 mile sales calling race running swing from Columbus to Memphis and home, but hoarding like that is what drives up the price worse than just biting it and using as little as possible. Heard a report today that OPEC felt a pinch when price went over $3 last month and cranked up production. We Americans actually used less gas, go figure...

Plan B for me is to park at a cheap hotel for a couple of days if driving cost exceeds lodging reason. Have cell phone and dial up modem in laptop. Can phone it in if needed.

Panic doesn't solve anything.

I have heard the rumours about the prices in the chatham area aswell but I can confirm that the Strathroy prices are hovering at $1.00 a litre right now as I live there.

I just hurd that if Rita hits the part of Texas with all the oil well we could see gas at $4.00 a gal. :shock:
