Default Plate or powdercoat?

I am working on my 1890s house and the door trim was copper plated back in the day. Of course its all rusted and ugly looking now. So should I have them replated or powder coated. I know the powder coating will not look like shiny copper but the copper wears off fairly quick. Decisions, decisions.

copper plate it, and have them dip it a few extra times. or, have it made out of copper. instead of plating.
1890 home, is it in a historical district? if so. you don't get to pick what you do.

I'd powder coat, as you can get it to look like copper, less cost, and more durable.
if your in a historical dist, DO NOT ASK THEM FOR PERMISSION!
just do it, they won't even notice,

we restored a home in a "historical district"
had one old biddy just looked for items that weren't authenticate.
finally had to get a court order banning them from our house, and surrounding area.

end result....... you WILL loose you ass on restoring a older home.

Who inspected the work after you had it done, or did it. or was this one of those you didn't pull permits. and are advising others to do the same.

Eric,

Do you have experience with living in a "Historical" district?

In Brockton Mass???

Other than Rocky Marciano and Marvelous Marvin, and some old defunct shoe factories, what is the History?

I forgot.

I left out about 43 percent black folks, and the largest population of Angolans, outside of Angola.

If he does, there is a very high chance some Local Angolan transplant, will come and steal the fuckers before they begin to tarnish.
