There is a company in Trotwood,Ohio named Devers. They built alot of the haulers back in the 70's for some of the best racers out there. The one someone posted in this thread of Prudhommes car and hauler is the top of the line they built. They are still in business.

Lets say you wanted to build one for yourself and had a mid 90s model F350 dually to work with. What would need to be done to haul a roughly 3100 lbs fox mustang on it? Need to be lengthened? Need stiffer springs/shocks? An airbag system? Heavier tires?

Just with Bilstein shocks and everything else stock in the suspension, my 95 F350 hauls my camper (around 3300 lbs when loaded with gear) no problem (also tows my open race car trailer at the same time). You would probably need to lengthen it to fit a car up there though. I have seen some ramp trucks built on stock wheelbase longbed trucks, and they looked like they took too much weight off of the steer tires.
