There are at least 2 different metal materials for the check valve under the squirter nozzle. Try the brass one.

I have the same issue. Ive noticed fuel seep from the bottom of the squirters when pushing the acc pump lever. Ive replaced the squirter gasket, doubled up the gasket, tried new squirters, new squirter bolt, replaced acc pump umbrella, checked needle weight, even lightly filed squirter mounting surface to insure it is flat.

Still seeps fuel.

I gave up and just let it seep.

Its a very simple concept as far as how it seals and works. If you check all those logical things there is not much else it could be other than the pad on the carb where the squirter mounts is not true.

^^^^^ Not sure if I feel better knowing there's someone else on planet earth with the same issue - hehehe. I'm going to put a wideband on it to see if the weep affects A/F while wet....

Set the body up in a mill and just touch it up.

When you put a steel needle in and tap it lightly to seat it in. Might have a burr on the seat or could be dirt on it.

^^^^ I take it you have tried all the usual suspects as far as remedies are concerned? Anything you tried that I haven't?

Yes, messed with it a little bit yesterday. Looked like it had a burr on the main body so I took a sharp putty knife and drug it across and it cleaned up but it still leaks. I don't have a mill. I pulled it off I'll flip it upside down to take the needle out. I have a good HP750 on my Malibu that I just need to use but haven't got around to it yet. I've got an 850 DP that won't draw any fuel to even idle, but hopefully I figured that out. To early to fire it up. Good luck

You could always make yourself a new gasket, out of slightly better material than the paper Holley uses.

I had a similar issue here is what my issues where.

I have a 750 HP. I changed squirters and was doing some pump shot tuning. I snugged down the nozzles like usual. What I neglected to realize was that the threads where damaged. They are superfine and pull out real easy. I was chasing a lean stumble I couldn't figure out.... I eventually decided to do a full rebuild on the carb ( I got it used from a good source) This is when I I pulled the screw out with the threads.

This explained a few things I always dismissed . 1 the puddling under the nozzle 2 the steaming after shut down and the drop in the fuel psi quickly after shut down. 3 my weak pump shot.

This may not be your issue but what I did was I used a torx m6 (metric) bolt with a slightly courser thread. it fills the whole opening of the shooter so clearancing it for proper flow is a must. I made this repair and my carb changed significantly. The lean spot was gone and my fuel shot looked normal. The lack of proper bite caused my leak and at idle it wouldn't puddle up. Only on shut down or heavy throttle use.

To be exact I used a latch bolt/screw from a mazda., since I work in a body shop this kind of hardware is normal. I did lots of measuring to get this right as far as clearances go. Just fwiw
