Suspension set up would be my guess. Any idea where your instant center is set? Drag radial or street radial?

I would also invest in some good shocks.

When I hit it, the front ends comes up on its tippy toes, the ass end squats and both tires start smokin'. Im wonderin what actually is in this 460. seems to have a ton of torque

Lakewoods are great on a 14 second car, I'm talking about some adjustable shocks like QA1's, or Strange, etc. Shocks you can really tune to the car, not just a built in ratio.

Instant center is the intersection between the centerline of your driveline, and the centerline of your lower control arm in your case. On a car like mine it is from the centerline of my CalTrac bar. Where that intersection happens to be set makes a HUGE difference in the way the car launches.

I might have some regular old 275/60s around. Let me look and I will let you know.

Ditch those hard ass hockey pucks and get some Mickey Thompson drag radials, 100 times better tire!! I went with a 255, little bit more tire, and they're the same price as the 235.

Ok, since you guys are active, I'm gonna thread jack. Tell me if I'm right or wrong.

retarding cam timing = higher rpm power
advancing cam timing = lower rpm power

narrower LSA = higher rpm power, peakier torque
wider LSA = lower rpm power, smoother torque

I'm getting conflicting information with google searches. One article will say one thing, the next will say the exact opposite.

BFG drag raidials are nothing like MT or Hoosiers. My 295/65/15s would fry with my 455. My best 60 on them was a 1.91. Went to a smaller 285/60/15 American Racer tire and immediately ran a 1.71 60.

You are correct with your cam timing, advancing is going to obviously open the valve sooner, and it does help with low RPM torque. I personally wouldn't do it on a high compression engine. Retarding cam timing will help with scavenge, and help high RPM power.

I used to think what you said about LSA was true, but it's been proven now that tighter LSA is good for torque, but still makes good upper RPM power.

Naturally aspirated section (Uratchko Racing Engines) will get you definate answers, do a search.
