Default school me on plasma cutters

I have used a friends 2 times, it is a miller 110v just hook up a air hose and use it. thinking about getting one myself similar to it. I dont need anything big and fancy, just for home use. I have a sufficient compressor. I see them at the china freight stores from $300-$3000. What do you like what to stay away from? thanks.

Like most everything in life, ya get what ya pay for.
Miller is about top of the line in quality, and pricey goes along with that.
If you're using it more than once or twice a year, best go for a good one vs the chinko cheapies...

CUT-50, 50 Amp Pro. Plasma Cutter, DC Inverter 110/230V Dual Voltage Cutting Machine New https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D9V9JZ7..._0U33CbD9A5TWS

Got one of these back in January. Been 100% happy with it and I use it everyday. Heaviest I’ve cut so far has been 3/8’s stainless, went through like butter.

I have a Hypertherm. I bought it because they are a Plasma Cutter company not a welder or whatever else maker.
I have used it quite a bit with no problems.

There’s a reason you’ll find Hypertherm to be the most recommended plasma cutter... and it isn’t because they’re cheap.

Hypertherm 45XP makes me look good, I have cut up to 1" with it but that's about it. This is 1/2" if I remember right. The 30 was a bit under powered for me at 1/4".

I have the Miller 110 125 Spectrum unit with the built in compressor and it is absolutely a waste of time and money. I asked the Miller rep at a trade show and he agreed it was pitiful. Do yourself a favor and buy a 220 model. However I will sell you mine at a great price ' Like New "

Later,

BobH
