It is an aftermarket air-cooled VW block.
The stock VW blocks tend to blow apart at 400hp. The Pauter blocks can withstand 1200+.

Hello, new here. No full tuning runs on my set up yet but it went 11.5 @ 125 with timing retarded way too far. I was being way too carefull. Go to www.americantorque.com Look up Marks 73 TA with the turbo build pics. Mark L

New here. I ran nitrous last year on my 73 TA (10.2 @ 134) and switched to a turbo this year. Could only muster an 11.5 @ 125 since I retarded the timing way too much being carefull. Have not run it again since. Moving from Wisconsin to Phoenix so the TA is down there waiting for me. Go to www.americantorque.com and look at Marks 73TA. Has info on the car, a story about last years nitrous run, and pics of the turbo build this year. Thanks. Mark L

Default My 73 TA turbo install.

Ran nitrous last year (10.2 @ 134) but switched to turbo this year. Go to www.americantorque.com to view info on my 73 TA, a story and a vid about my 10.2 run from last year, and pics of my turbo install this year. My only run after the install was an 11.5 @ 125. I really backed off the timing ( a little scared of blowing parts). I'm moving from Wisconsin down to Phoenix and the car is down there waiting for me. Will tune it then. Thanks. Mark L
