Last week I was in Minnesota visiting my cousin and he grills up a bbq grill full of these steaks called chuckeyes! Absolutely amazing piece of meat. I come back to Michigan with the intent to buy every chuckeye I can get my hands on and can’t find them on the shelf and nobody seems to know what they are. In Minnesota there right on the rack with the rest of the beef. Wtf

Its a poor mans ribeye. Not nearly as tender. Its a cut from the fifth rib of a cow. Only two per cow, not as plentiful as ribeyes.

I think they are OK, but not anything to write home about.

how cheap are they ?? we get rib eyes from wegmans, who is usually $$$ but they have prime cuts... typically 10-11.00 per lb .... i think thats fair

bought a whole filet loin the other week for 9.00lb

my butcher is 7-9$ for the chuckeye and 12ish for the ribeye.

I just remember that the chuckeye wasn't that far off than the ribeye. I haven't bought chuckeye in awhile but if I remember correctly it was 7 and the good stuff was 11.

225digger referenced prime cuts. I've recently become spoiled by buying Prime cuts on sale at Fairway.

Bought some 30day old aged rump ... A nice selection of veges and then wifey drowned it in gravy while I wasn't looking !!!

I didn't even get to taste it without seasoning
