Default $20 DIY bump box

For those of you that are looking for a bump box.

Here is my version that uses a $6 solid state relay and a $14 timer the size of a quarter from amazon.

I have not researched this, surely there are smaller solid state relays as well?

Yes they make smaller relays down to 10 amps. I chose the 40 for a few reasons

1. SSR relays loose capacity with heat, and generally need large heat syncs
I figured having the relay under the carpet or on the trans tunnel can get 120 degrees pretty easy and not wanting to run the heat sync the extra capacity would be good.

2. The smaller relays are the same price or are harder to find other than the 25 amp unit.
