Default How to figure out tire diameter

I presently run a 33" tall tire and don't know if I should stay with a 33" or go smaller 31", 29"

I trap 142mph in the quarter but only have a 1.38 60', it's a 540 reher morrision, powerglide, 4.56 rear gear 3200lb's

Really a ton more info needed before someone could really comment on that change.

If consistency is the goal, trap rpm vs engine redline, transmission 1st gear, converter stall, etc.

trap rpm 7600, redline 7800, trans 1st gear 1.80, converter stalls to 6600rpm on the trans brake with no chip, car weighs 3200lb's

At a quick glance it's possible that a short tire could make your trap rpm higher than your redline.

That would also be partially dependent on your converter slip also because sometimes a final gear/tire combination change can affect that.

I went with a 1/2" shorter tire.
