26 is what's on my car in my avatar but you can't see them. Any smaller looks bad in my eyes, I do have a set of wheels with 5.50 Morosos but haven't ran them for several years.

Well this thread got me off my azz and i went out in the shop and took the 25'' hoosier's off the rims and put my 26'' MT sportsman's back on and i like it much better even tho i just added 10 lbs to the front , But then again i never noticed an ET change with the lighter tires.

Lighter front tires won't change ET by a measurable amount, however the taller front tire will result in additional roll-out which "should" result in lower ET.

I put the 26's on my car to change the instant center and help it keep the wheels on the ground.

I have run 24,26,28 tires on the front of my nova. The problem I found if you go to different tracks the roll out could be different. Making harder to stage the car the same every time. With the 24 I feel you swim between the lights. I run 26 and have a much better consistent light. 3100 lbs cutting 00 lights. Have fun and be safe.

25” wouldn’t have been enough sidewall for me. Truck is kinda heavy and street drives a lot :/

Those of you thinking a taller tire makes you faster, are a bit off the mark. They are only fooling the clocks into starting later. If you were in a street race, it would make zero difference. In all reality, the taller tire would make you slower, as it is probably heavier, and that extra mass is further from the axis of rotation... adding rotational inertia.

If you need better reaction times, get the shorter tire. If you want your car to appear faster than it actually is... put a set of 30's on the front.

I've always ran 28" front runners on my old truck. Anything else would look too small to me. As long as I can cut a light I'm good.
