Default Driveshaft Length Calculation

I have a car in the shop and I expect the tailshaft/driveshaft is too long.

The tranny rear seal to diff yoke center measures 61.41” (1560 milimeters)

How do I calculate what length the tailshaft must be from center to center on the universals?

They are a 1350 Uni with a strange slip yoke to suit a Glide.

Default Re: Driveshaft Length Calculation

Put the yoke in the trans until it bottoms and pull it out 1". Measure from center of u-joint on yoke to center on pinion yoke. Of course this is with the car sitting on it's tires on boxes or a ramp lift or trailer.
