Thinking about getting someone else to put together my car

I am considering hiring somebody to put together my car so I can get some racing in next year. I am so damn busy at work I only made it home for Christmas day, then back to work. I work out of town and I would lose more money taking the time off to build it than if I had some one do it. I have all the major parts and pieces, just little stuff left to get, a few AN fittings ect. It should be a high 6 second car when properly set up so I need someone I can trust. Any suggestions in Alberta, Saskatchewan, N Dakota or someplace like that close to me, I work in Southern Saskatchewan?

He looks like more of an engine builder than a car builder

I would seriously consider hiring a crew chief, someone as close as possible, but 100% skilled & knowledgeable obviously comes 1st.
That way you will have someone to help you run the car & maintain the car when you're gone.

If that won't work, then I would definitely only use a quality dragracing chassis shop to finish & prepare the car.
I'm sure you will get 100 guys saying I'll do it in my garage.
I trust NO ONE, and no frigging way I'm leaving my car in some strangers garage.

Good luck, hope something works out for you!!!

Allyn Lee. Think Lee Brothers with all the NHRA record holding Hemi Cudas. Also has a fabrication shop in Lacombe, Dave did up my 7.50 certified cage + all the interior tin work. Engine dyno is there too.

Wow, http://www.rhracecars.com go to these guy's website and check out the projects tab and look at the quality of the work these guys do. Damn if I where near them and need a builder from the look at the cars they've done I think I'd feel very comfortable with my car in their hands. Nice to see shops like these that build cars of this level.

To the OP, good luck finding a builder to help with your car while your out making a living. I hope when you do you'll get what you are expecting and it works out well for you.

I was going to say Ryan (RH Race Cars) as well. He's a no BS guy that does what he says and stands behind it.

And as seen on YB many a time, do NOT pay in full, up front. Pay in stages as each stage is completed!!

Ya, I was thinking about RH, also the Vogt Brothers in Regina, they built and run their pro mods. It basicly just needs assembeling and a good going over to make shure everything is good to go and is safe. I would love to hire a crew chief but I don't know anybody that dosen't already have their own program going. Whoever I get to do it will be quality builder/assembeler. Damn work getting in the way of my important stuff.

We race with Vogt's and they would also be another one to check with. Tim moved a little further South but Dan is still in Regina. They have a great crew guy (Ryan) who you might check with for crew help. He may be able to help you when Vogt's aren't out.

I heard Tim moved down to the Okanogan. I actually stopped by their shop befor Christmas but Dan was down in Vegas. I will be talking to him after the new year when he gets back.

Take it to Skinny Kid. Long haul but worth it.

I didn't mean a top professional type crew chief.
My crew chief is an ex-racer that no longer was racing his own car and was looking to stay racing.

He knows more about most things then I did except N2O, so it was a great fit.
We were close friends for 15-20 years, and he got to race again with no expense.
He even makes some N/A pass's when needed to check something or just to get some hits in.
I'm lucky he's only an hour away, and it has worked out great.

Again good luck, and best wish's with the new toy.
