With a shorter bar, when you make a bar change its a bigger move. Ie lets say you have a 18 bar and move the bar down 1 hole in the front. This may move the ic 14" and you make the same move on a 22" bar it will only move 12". We try to keep our stuff at 23" or so. I hope this helps.

with a really short bar, your IC will move more drastically as the car travles through the suspension. also and more so the slightly more important part is what procrew2 has said. with a shorter bar everytime to go to make a IC adjustment it is a LARGER move then it would be with a typical 21-23" bar. the oppostie is true with going to a longer then normal bar. If your were to make a IC change the actually IC would move less with each hole change on the brackets. For a negitve side to a long bar it pushes the seat forward in the chassis as you will still want the wheel to be centered in the wheel well opening. People will also argue that a longer then normal bar will change your spring rate math a bit and can cause problems when tring to diagnose a problem.
