: Pimp My Wheelchair Project

Hi People,
I don't have a dragster but I thought I'd join to show you my Pimped Wheelchair I've been working on. I was born with Arthritis meaning I use an electric wheelchair to get around. Growing up I always had people staring at me as I'm a young person in a wheelchair so decided to give them something to stare at, by pimping my chair up.

Thanks to various companies it currently has:-
- A custom under-glow kit by ICELED
- A 80w solar panel
- custom modified wheels
- A Wizards Of NOS Nitrous Purge System (Video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9V_hBzzUd0)

I have now been contacted by JL Audio who have offered to supply a set of speakers so soon it will have a fully working sound system. I'm also in the middle of talks with a company who are talking about making a custom body kit to hide the frame and wiring.

Here is an old video of the lighting:-

Now that I've had so much done to the wheelchair I now take it to shows to show it off and use it to raise money for charity.

Good for you man, looks like a cool little project. What type Arthritis do you have? I have Psoriatic, mine started in my 20's.

Most people don't understand you don't have to be old to get this shit.

Keep at it bud. :smt023

Do you know or hang with any of the guys at http://www.wheelchairdriver.com/ ? "That guy" has made some interestin mods

For those of you who "don't" the collective chair industry pretty much needs to have their asses kicked for the poor showing and usefulness, generally speaking. The people who make and sell shit of the caliber of "hoveround" just need to be shot

@swoop, I was born with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (Rheumatoid)

@440roadrunner, I No I am not a member of that website as Ive never heard of it but that chair does look totally amazing. I totally agree with you that the wheelchair industry needs a kick up its backside as no-one really makes wheelchairs truly designed for younger people. It can be truly depressing for a young person to be in a wheelchair as they see all their friends running round and often they just want their own way to stand out.

I just need to find someone willing to supply a mechless head-unit to use with the JL Audio speakers haha
