I know someone with a Pro Street car that defies everything said here, and it really DOES run 7's, but not in the 1/8!! Oh, did I say it makes 1100HP on 93 octane pump gas???

not to hyjack but on the 3/4 cam deal. I never knew where the hell that came from until an old timer told me it was from roundy round racing. If you were running a 3/4 mile track you ran the 3/4 cam or full cam on the mile tracks. Any truth to this?

Yes, it is still in the cam catalog.

I think that covers most of the posers.

i was at a local car show and this guy had a beautiful blown pro street camaro, very nice looking car, but he is telling everyone how fast it is and would run 8,s all day long, but he doesn't race it much cause he doesn't want to tear it up.
well this other guy i know has a nice 70 nova with a big block that he runs all the time, also a very nice car.
so he keeps following this guy around and asking stupid questions because he is loving how full of shit this guy is.
so he waits till there is a big crowd listening to him and tells him he has a big block nova that runs 10,s and pulls a time slip out of his pocket to show him, then he pulls out a hundred and says he bets his ten second car will kick his 8 second cars ass any day any where.
well he starts stammering and back peddling trying to make excuses.
it was the funniest damn thing ive ever seen at a car show.
when he left the show he tried to get on it and it was belching smoke and back firing like crazy.

I have seen that more then once. Many of those guys have never even made a pass down the track in those cars. Most of them couldn't pass tech if Ray Charles teched it. I saw one this weekend just like that, blown 70 Camaro, tubbed, big block, although just factory cast iron heads, claims to make over 900 HP! I would bet he has no phucking clue what kinda' power it makes. He jumped on it as he was leaving going out onto the road, it sounded lame, to say the least... Yeah, 900HP alright!

I will say that those cars are the cars that gave "Pro Street" cars a bad name.. The worst are the ones with huge M/T Sportsmans on the back and some POS chromed out SB that doesn't make enough power to even spin the tires in the rain!

There is an exception to every rule. The fact you are trying to put yourself in that crowd is puzzling, but way cool it makes the power...
