I have several pictures from Suffolk Raceway as I won S/ST at the Winston Drag Racing Series event there in '84. It was my time slips which were mentioned on page 9 of this thread. We currently own Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, GA. I'm looking for the old pictures and hope to get them on here soon. I have very fond memories of Suffolk, but my home track was Warner Robins. I have many pictures from there. Our track opened in '94 as Warner Robins was closing. Several of the folks that worked at Warner Robins have worked or are still working with us at Silver Dollar. Cheryl Sibert, our ET "shackologist" has the longest continuous position of any of these. Bobby Boyd is a regular here and Warner Robins last owner, Jerry Barker, is a sponsor currently of our Summit Points series.

I have a similar picture of the same van, same track, only running in the right lane. MANY fond memories of WR dragway. Grew up about a mile from there and was in attendance just about any time the gates were open. The top alcohol cars made a habit of plowing crops at that place!

Anyone on here ever race at Sunset Dragstrip in Sharon Pa? It was actually between Sharon and Mercer on RT19. I went down the track there for the first time in 1969, (I was 5) in the passanger seat of my neighbor's '62 Impala SS convertable. They raced there off and on thru the early 80's as I recall. Not sure if it's still there or not. Just wondering. Seems to me there was an 1/8 mile track near Hartford Ohio we went to also when Chuck got rid of the 62 and got a big block '66 Impala SS.

You haven't lived until you staged up a bike after they just ran a jet car.
You sound old enough to have had some of those coca cola bell bottoms!lol
