Wouldn't it be quite costly to sleeve all the cylinders compared to another block.. I'm guessing this isn't any special block.

Have you seen the labor rates in Mexico?

Why do you think GM builds their trucks there.

It's not sleeved. If on top that's just the gasket transfer...or honing scuff ..Again no sleeve IMO...

They don't care, they have apes banging on shit all day long on those assembly lines. If he didn't mention jasper, I would venture to question it, but it's a reman so the chance of it being sleeved is 99 percent.

I'm going to try to hit it with the mag and some powder after lunch. If I get a chance to do it I'll post up some pictures of what I got. I don't know wtf I didn't do that to start with. We were busy as hell and I just didn't think of it.

The 3.7 is problematic for everything. I tear them down all the time for coolant consumption issues. Never had any bottom end issues. Clean the block, re-do the heads with a mill job (also very common to have excessive pitting on valves), new Chryslers gaskets and head bolts with a few coats of copper spray on the gaskets, and your good to go. Also, take a very good look at the exhaust valve springs. The scuff against the steel oil deflector cup they sit in and by 150,000 they can be worn thin enough to cause the spring to break, kick out the follower, and your back to where you started. New guides and tensioners never hurts either. Did you hold the camshaft chains to the drive sprocket with two screw drivers or actually get the Chrysler timing tool? Good luck.

It's an iron block with NO sleeves.

The 'ring' you are seeing is not consistant around all cyls, it fades out on the left side of the 4th picture. This 'line was caused by the steel fire ring of the head gasket 'working' rubbing against the iron, wearing it away and leaving this ring.

Milling the block will remove it but it looks like the pistons are already at zero deck height. Milling the block and using that head that you mentioned was already over surfaced .050 could be a problem.

What is factory com ratio? And valve clearances?

Well the nays have it. I made everybody mad but we pushed the Jeep in and the mag crack detector says that whatever I'm looking at it ain't sleeves. No need for pictures there's nothing to see.
