The problem we have here is these import guys think having NO interior panels and hole saw holes everywhere with one seat is perfectly normal..

they also think hat if the build a custome one off part that would cost someon 1500 bucks it doesnt cost them anything since they built it..

if you wana go like that i can take 5 k and run mid-low 9s 500 for a turbo build the rest of the kit myself from 200 bucks in tubing and a 175 dollar ebay intercooler 700 for a used boss block put a stock crank with eagle I beam rod in it and a set of 700 dollar ebay aluminum heads ported by myself with stock forged pistons that cost me nothing a c-4 built for 500 bucks in parts with a 350 dollar converter a throttle body a fuel system injectors and a mega squirt and i gaurentee you i could go in the low nines all day with 5 grand and a guted out car.

That's fine. I didn't say they could or couldn't do anything of the sort. I just said you can't pretend that any average Joe can get a professional to work a bunch of hours for free.

Talons also break every other pass so is it best 3 outta 5 or what?

This is making my head hurt to read...

Most would consider me one sided for the import side but I gotta say, my $'s on the mustang.

O/P - Just some creative criticism here, you need to get the facts together about rules, time frame, exposure, and most importantly, venue together before anyone takes this seriously. Also note most alot of the serious Mustang guys are out at Superbowl right now so your pretty much voicing this to the west coast guys right now I'd think.
Also, there have indeed been multiple guys from the mustang camp step up to the plate but you keep waving them off? Why does it have to be a "shop" that builds the car. I personally would love to see a garage built car come out and play.

I think what you are doing is a noble effort but on the surface it seems a bit one sided. Good luck with this, I'd love to see it happen.

The stang has a uphill battle my friends..
and enough holes sawed in it to qualify it as swiss cheese.

I would like to see a big Ford shop, otherwise the DSM will just get bad mouthed for being pro VS rookie. It HAS to be fair.

Here's the last time I raced a DSM:
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/T...at-t_53221.htm

It didn't work out too good for him though. But at least he didn't break. lol that's a successful pass in a DSM.

Unfortunately for the other guy he was in a DSM that is like the other 99.9%. 7.70's is fast for a 3400 lb car on drag radials with stock-suspension though. Wait what does that guy have again?

Default k just a clue for you.

Here is a mustang with about 3800-4000 bucks in the motor + a nitrous kit and gears and exhaust This is how you go fast on a budget..
I know this car it has a STOCK drive line in it for this pass stock trany with stock t-5 with shifter with stock rear end with 4.10 i believe
reliable ? nope they put probly 4 tranys in it over a 5 month period but fast none the less.
later on they went to a g-froce t-5.

but again it can be done as you can see here.

I could never achieve it because I would never try. If I wanted to spend a ton more money to test and tune so I could be an internet hero then maybe that's the route I would go. I've got some other things going on though so I'll have to pass on that and just work on my slow Camaro.

Speaking of achievements, what have you ever done related to racing? Besides typing about it of course...
