John i think the head rule is great but i have several customers the just built all mopar cars and new motors with the mopar head rule you just put up just eliminated 3 cars from your x275 program ..mopar is B1 head only ...my customers are no were near the power now with a fact hemi head and indy heads .. if they switch to a B1 head they may make enough to run with ultra street . There thoughts are they just blew 50g for a brand new useless race car they built ...

i dont beleive iv ever seen any mopar in the 4.50-4.80 range on 275s single stage...

thanks Scotty k

I would like to know also because I was looking at putting a Mopar together. Also, it says nothing about SB Mopar. I was leaning towards a Turbo or Supercharged SB Mopar.

What king of head do you WANT to use............On a wedge, the rules allow you to use any Indy head, or any B-1 head, other than the TS. The only thing that leaves out there is the Predator for a wedge and that is a spread port, so it is out for sure.

Or are you asking for a HEMI to be legal

A HEMI head should be legal.

Only reason there hasnt been a major discussion about it is 20 guys arent building them. This class is based on the masses and popular combinations. When an oddball or uncommon combination comes around John has a tough job of squeezing it in the rules. The issue is if that combo was to ever be competitive, everyone would complain and cry that it was given special rules and this and that. Hate to say it but this class is based on big block chevy nitrous and small block ford/chevy boosted combos. Once you get away from those 2 your outta luck.

conventional bb chevy heads these days will kick the predator head in the booty. I'm a mopar guy but in x275 i dont see one that could run in the top 5.Jmo

It kinda was discussed years ago when the class was starting up, mainly started with the Ford stuff but bled over to the MOPAR stuff. The Kaase Boss 9 head (updated version of the Boss 429) as just becoming available and was deemed to be not legal.

The other issue with the Hemi is the single carb cast intake rule.

I think the W8/W9 stuff is close to the best ford and Chevy inline stuff. My P5's are Mopars best sb head I would say. The B1 PSO would be competitive in the right hands!
