Default Missouri lawmakers pass bill to nullify federal gun control laws

"JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. The Missouri Legislature sent the governor a bill Wednesday that would expand gun rights and declare all federal gun regulations unenforceable, in a response to President Obama's push for gun control legislation. The Republican-led Legislature passed the measure hoping to shield the state from federal proposals that would ban assault weapons and expand background checks. But the U.S. Senate's defeat of a background check expansion three weeks ago did nothing to assuage the fears of Missouri Republicans who pressed forward with their legislation." http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013...est=latestnews

States rights over the Federal Government.......hmmm, sounds like a familiar scenario from the mid 1800's.

If only it were legal. There is this little thing in the constitution called the Supremacy Clause which states no state can pass a law that supercedes federal law. Perfect example is the legalization of cannabis, a state says its legal but under the SC federal law, you can still be arrested and charged under federal law no matter what the state says. Just fyi, Im not a lawyer but I did spend the last 8 years of my law enforcement career as a federal law enforcement officer and we had to know this stuff along with the state laws.....................alot to retain.

Im all for it, its just not going to fly.

True, but you can legally pass laws that don't allow others to enforce the law, right? Maybe i am wrong, and i have been driving al damn day and i have a sever migraine, but maybe that is the loophole?

I see where you are comming from, and will agree with you. But there's also at least 14 flies in the oinment! (maybe 17). These are affirmations by the Supreme Court regarding state's rights. Like I said this will be interesting.

All the California state legal grow houses getting their door kicked in by the dea comes to mind. The federal governments laws give zero fucks about state laws.

That's what started the "last" Civil-War. Gotta care about the little-guys.
