Default Ford V-10 vs. 24V 5.4 Towing comparison

Anybody tow with both? Thinking about a newer truck. Alot of them have the 5.4 and wondered how they would tow compared to my 99 V-10 with 4.30 gears. Thanks guys!

Unless the 5.4 is making 375 plus hp, stay away. They tow like shit.

It'll get the job done, and be reliable and slow. The v10 will do it better and suck fuel, they like to rev.

had a E-250 with the 5.4. "turd" is the best word I can find at the moment.

Those things are a turd for towing compared to a Chevy..............I haven't driven a mod motor truck in years but the few I did drive were weak and like to rev on the smallest hill when towing..........downshift to second and pull a grade a 6k with it to the wood was the norm

My 2006 Expedition with the 5.4 pulls my 24' trailer with ease. Now maybe with a larger truck it might be different.

I like how 5.4 pulls. Pulls great at 3000. Barely will go past 4500. Not like my buddies Chevy that doesn't start to pull good till 4500.

i had a 2008 F150 with the 5.4 and my dad had a 2002 Denali Truck with the 6.0. pulling my 20' steel trailer with my 3600 pound car the denali did much better. the 5.4 would have to down shift much more when it came to the hills.

The 6.0 might pull better then the 5.4 but i bet the 5.4 3V pulls better then a 5.3.
