Federal employees do not pay taxes. At the end of the day, the bucket is more empty than it started.

The private sector is the only entity that fills the bucket on which this country runs.

If there were three of us in society. Me, you, and OC, and we all get piad by the government, how long will that last until there's no more money.

Hint, it wouldnt last 3 paycycles.

So maybe all the Government Employees should just stop paying taxes because its basically a wash, we could even stop getting paid all together and work for free and then the private sector could pay all our bills for us since they are the only ones filling the bucket anyway. Next you'll try to convince me that State employees dont pay state taxes....................... Maybe you need a bigger hose so you can fill the bucket a little faster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's do the math.....

There's $9000 in a bucket.

Me, you and OC work and get $1000 each at the first pay period.

Now there's $3000 in the bucket.

We all "pay tax" say $300 each, the bucket has $3900 in it.

Pay period number two comes up, we get our $1000 each. Now the bucket has $900.

We "pay tax" and the bucket has $1800.

Next pay period comes up, we get $1000 each, that's $3000. There's $1800 in the pot.

Who doesn't get paid?

The pot does not get filled by government employees. Period.

$5 Trillion is plenty to run the government. You guys fight over where it's going to come from. Not my problem.

Actually Shelton, it's more like 4%.

Unless, of course, you work for the government, or collect SS, or are really rich. Then, no problem.

I particularly enjoyed listening to some dude from the Atlanta international airport, who yesterday was warning people that controllers would be laid off and in order to ensure safe flying, the number of flights in and out of there would have to be drastically reduced. What bullshit.

If the budget for controllers is, say, $1 billion annually, and the sequester chops 3% out of the budget, looks to me like instead of laying off a bunch of them, it'd make a lot more sense to just cut their pay 3% and keep everybody. Would you prefer to make 97% of what you're earning now, or get canned?

No, the internet wasn't. That is complete bullshit.

I have never seen someone who is more subject to propaganda than yourself.

The government did NOT use or invent the internet as we know it today IN FACT they abandoned it..

Next thing you'll be telling me is that it was Al Gore....

Learn your history before you shoot off your mouth.

As for the rest of your tripe, should the government be able to run on $5 Trillion dollars? Yes or no?

That's how the private sector works...the government is far from being that smart.

In 2008 our entire company took pay cuts, from the top down. The Execs took 20 percent, management took 15, lower management took 10 and everyone else took a5 percent cut.
We started getting it back last year when profits started to come back to a reasonable level, along with bonuses to make up some of it.

The fucking government NEVER does anything to save money, they just look for another way to collect more to cover their ignorance.

BUT BUT BUT they had a contract. Even at 97% the government employees will still get paid more than their private sector counterparts.

And I would bet the bottom got their 5% back first.

Wow I'm just wondering what happened to the other $6000 that was originally in the bucket, maybe you've been doing the governments accounting and thats why the bucket is empty! So how does the governments private sector BALLOUT play into all of this? Think we can get some of THAT money back so I can get that raise now.......
