Gotta get to the airport, I'll divulge details later. Also - there are captions at the bottom of the pics.

I've thought about trying this but mixing ground beef in with it.

Yeah that's what we do. They sell it at the meat market here. They call it a 50/50 burger

I baked them at 350 for 1/2 hour then finished on the grill. Careful, they're flammable.

been making the 50-50 for two years now.. like they said they are very prone to flame ups. Publix will ground the bacon for you if you ask nice.

They'd probably be good on a bun with a couple of strips of bacon and cheese on top.

OK I have an update for us people in the Pacific Northwest.

You will have to find a regular butcher to grind your bacon. Chances are you will have to wait a few days to get it. I was lucky enough to talk a nice guy into grinding 4lbs for me before he cleaned his grinder for the night.

In Washington it is illegal for the corprate stores to grind but one kind of meat in a grinder to prevent cross contamination.

Seems like it would (gasp) be too much bacon. I think the thing that makes bacon burgers so good is the flavor of the bacon complementing the beef(and don't forget the cheese).

Ellis, I had the same problem but it was late in the day and the butcher was cool. I've since bought my own meat grinder and made my own ground bacon. Hint is to make the patties thin but large in diameter. They will shrink. Best burger I've ever had.
