01-04 non Cali trucks have nothing. No Cat,EGR, or DPF

04.5-5 EGR

06-07 EGR and CAT

07.5-10 EGR, CAT, and DPF

11-up EGR, CAT, DPF, and DEF.

Just my opinion the best years are 06-07 LBZs. Hollow out the CAT, program the EGR shut and rock on.
They where the first with the 6 speed Allison. Which a big improvement over the older 5 speed.

cool, are you able to just delete the cat with a straight piece of exhaust pipe or is it better to hollow it out.

You can delete it. But I prefer to hollow it out. Inspections around here are visual. So if it looks right it will pass.

I agree on the 06-07 as the best out there. The 07.5 to 2010 can be deleted for same results as the 06-07, just a bit more work. The 2011-2012 should just be left stock as what is available currently is crap.

05 have cats or at least ours did until I put turbo back 5inch exhaust on. And the EGR disappeared after the dealer had to put three on and had to update the computer once in the first 7000 miles. Since junking that crap mileage went up and it stopped chugging like a freight train every time I slightly hit the peddle.

what kind of improvement in mileage did you get? I have an 05 and the mileage stinks compared to the 03 I had. Right now I have a air filter, programmer, and the turbo inlet done to it and only get about 15.5-16 mpgs with it

Ditching the cat will net you at least 2mpg. If I were you I would just get a 4" turbo back system and call it a day, it will drop egt's a solid 200 degrees.
