I would try the RFD RR heads.
Give Curtis a call.

My 565ci made 990hp. 13.5 to 1, nitrous motor. Went with the RFD Victors, not his double throw down ones either. Cost was hardly any more then a "box" set of heads. Curtis will set you up to meet your goal and his after sale service is second to none!!!!

You can't gowrongwithTony @ BES, He is One of the best in the country...............

Slick rick Maiser is a good one also, The new SR20 head he design is a Bad as head....

With a fresh start, that's the route i'd go.....20* head............= Big Power, your 598 likely would see over 1200hp, if built right

I build a raised runner conventional in valve angles to
meet rules packages that will go 535 / 355 and has been
killer on the pull stuff. Small fast ports, ..
completely custom, ..

That's the most serious pull head I know of, ..

1100 hp with a 598 will be a walk in the park, with several different non custom heads.
I do believe if I was building an engine from scratch, and didn't have a valve angle rule, my SR20 would be the obvious choice. It's now on "on the shelf" head, Diamond is in the process of offering several different shelf pistons for it, and T&D is super quick with the rocker system, if they don't have them on the shelf.

If going with a custom head, hard to go wrong with a set from RFD, Darin Morgan, BES, or myself.

I don't like to boast about flow #'s, but I have a set I was working on for Larry Pearce's TPSA engine that I was going to run this year, until the class decided to take a "mini vacation".
These went over 550 cfm on both the left and right port, and I had only just began to tune on them.
For comparison, the heads on Rick Cowger's TPSA engine that holds the ET record flow 515.

There's some pretty serious stuff out there for conventional bbc engines, even though some say it's a little silly to use conventional heads. lol
