Default Semi truck air suspension

Is there way to decrease the amount of pressure to the air bags? Does the height sensor adjust the presure? I need to decrease the pressure some on my truck when I pull my race trailer.
Thanks Rick

increasing or decreasing pressure will change the ride height.
The leveling valve adds and removes air to keep it at the right height.

The only way to increase or decrease the pressure in the bags and keep the same height would be change the weight on them.

The leveling valve does this automaticly. If you change the adjustment and raise or lower the truck you will mess up all the driveshaft and u-joint angles..

What he said... is the truck riding bad? Why do you feel you need to change it?

Does it mess up the u joint angles when the suspension moves threw its range of motion? If you let air out of bags or add air, its still within its range of motion. Then the u joints will be fine. No way to really soften the air bags without changing ride height. It ride hight needs to be changed just move load leveler valve. Should have a bit of adjustment on it.

of course the trucks height will change going over bumps etc but the truck will spend most of its time at the correct level going down the road

If you are concerned about height lower 5th wheel... saddles can be changed ,whats the issue anyways why do you need to lower truck ?

Just thinking of softening the bags to get less hit to the gooseneck trailer. Ride height is ok.
Thanks Rick

Want it to ride softer.... Move the bag further from the axle centerline. Will take less pressure to maintain a given height.

lower tire pressure. tire mfgs have charts on line.. weight vs speed. no need to run 100 psi when 60 will do.....

8 bag Kenworth suspension...

Theres only one fix for that... Bigger supply lines to the bags so it can move more air.
