Default Building a moonshine still question's

The power of the Bullit is needed.
So I'm to poor to buy whiskey these day's but I have a bitch'n set of tools, Shear, Break, Roller, Beader and so forth. I think it's time to start making my own hootch. I see a bunch of stills for sale on the internet but really it is something I can build myself.
What's the best size to have? I'm thinking at least 20 gallons but would it be better to build something smaller?
Electric or gas burner?
Is there any reason people don't braze weld the copper? It seems brazing would hold up better than soldering.
Any and all advice is welcome. If you know of a good website for distilling info that would be great. I wont be selling it so I don't need to hear about how it is possibly illegal.

Hate to tell you but it is illegal even if you don't sell it.

But if you are looking to purify water there are plenty of sites that have good designs. Just sayin...

Not liquor, beer and wine yes. You have to have a permit/ license to make liquor and pay taxes.

.... Once you get your "Water distiller" built , do yourself a favour and stay away from the spuds (potatoes).... Use fruit instead as it's not as harsh the first time around and most time won't require double cooking.... Double cooking is when you hear stories about shit getting blown sky high if ya know what I'm sayin lol.....

Well, It only took 10 reply's to get a valid answer. Thanks!
I have lots of corn and apple available. I was thinking a sour mash would be the way to go.

Pressure cooker with a coil and some cornmeal . Throw away the first batch. See if a spoonful of the second batch will light with a match, if it burns its good. Makes almost a quart. jm.02

......I've never tried the corn based.... One would think it'd be alot smoother than starting with a spud though.... Hook me up when you get your concoction going lol..... I see guys are doing god knows what with fucking bath salts of all things nowadays so I don't see what the big deal is with doing a bit of cooking with good old table fare
