Default Who else here has watched J. Edgar?

I watched it last night with the wife and she could not believe the power that one man in this country had. I question her on the "had" part. I went on to ask her if she didn't think that those type of actions still existed in our great gubment. She didn't have a opinion on that.. LoL

So for the ones that have watched it I will ask you. What did you think of the movie?

I've never watcher Brokeback, but I can say that there's man on man kissing in this movie.

I don't know why Hollywood feels the need to focus so much on homosexuality? I've got no problem with guys fucking each others asses, whatever floats your boat. It just seems like a disproportionate number of movies contain a homosexual element. Maybe I'm unaware of the number of gay people around me? Maybe it's perfectly in proportion?

What is it about homosexuality in a movie? Does it make it more artsy or relevant? I won't rent a movie if I know it has guy on guy action because it makes me cringe, in a grossed out kind of way. Maybe Hollywood is trying to condition the cringe out of guys like me?

Are a large percentage of Hollywood writers and producers gay?

No I think they just want to point out the power he had at the time he had it... and how in the closet being gay was.

It's like Rock Hudson... he was a sex symbol for/too women and he was a closet fag.

It defiantly showed that he was a turd chaser but that (to me) was not the main focus of the movie. More the fact of the abuse of his power and the mount of time it went unchecked.

You could say the same thing about almost every Republican candidates platform and their agenda once they get in... Anything to make people forget the mess they made in only 8 years..
