So you are saying it's ok for the rest of the class to leave the rules alone and let turbo cars have 10mph over the whole class? Why, because turbo cars are slow to the 330? That is not ok.
Towards the end of the track, yes, turbo cars do have a lot more HP. That was the case before and after the rule change. If they don't have enough extra HP, they can't make up for the slower front half.

MPH doesn't mean shit. If they ET's are equal, then yes, I think the rules are pretty damn good, don't you???

So you are saying it's ok for the rest of the class to leave the rules alone and let nitrous/blower cars have a huge 330' advantage over the rest of the class? Why, because nitrous/blower cars are slow on the top-end? That is not ok.

My point is......1/4 mile ET is the ONLY important time in a 1/4 mile drag race(and RT of course). MPH, and all the other increments don't mean fuck all. IF the 1/4 ET's are equal, the rules are spot on. I'm not saying the rules were equal or agreeing with Roger Burgess....(I do think the nitrous/blower cars needed a little help), I'm just explaining what he meant....IMO.

I wouldn't say Nitrous and blower cars are slow at the top end at all.. I think there MPH is more indicative of the ET, far more so than that of the turbo cars.
And I know MPH doesn't matter, but it does show the amount of HP made. So to go 250mph, we all can see the HP is there to set the class on fire.

Don't have one dog in this fight so don't flame me but I just received an e-mail from R2B2 Race Cars that contained this:

Was your car built at VPRC by Jim Geese?
Do you need parts, update work, track-side assistance?

Want a new car with the same design and high-quality workmanship?
Contact Jim at 855-261-0485 for all of your racing needs!

May be at least a starting point.

the 2012 rules are out now so time for debating won't help now. We all must come to terms with a Nitrous car qualifying #1 at Gainsville and accept it...

Seems to me, Burgess is doing nothing out of the ordinary for a guy running a turbo car. Maybe he see's it as protecting his home turf.
The rules argument remains a constant merry-go-round and likely always will be. Once you have passion, work, money and ego all tied up in a particular combination, every sanctioning body is out to get YOU. Go back a few years when the nitrous cars weren't that competitive & the blowers were darn near winning everything. When the nitrous racers wanted blower restrictions to even things up, they were told: No way! "Go to work on your combo". And for the majority of those who did, the cost of the change was at least $100K for a new 5.2" OR 5.3" borespace engine program.

I kind'a find it a tiny bit humorous that the blower contingent wants changes in the rules, because it appears they aren't dominant right now. However, the real can of worms lies within the hairdryer contingent.
Trying to mix 3 different power adders and make them each competitive all year long, is almost attempting the insane.
