Look @ Duramaxtuner.com and have one of the guys write you some EFI live files. They will perform better and safer then any canned tuner

Last I heard EFI live wasnt going to be coming out for the LML any time soon with the extra expense of cracking the new computer and the gov. coming down on aftermarket tuning! Could be wrong though!!!

I think they are not doing it because they can't pull the stock tune with the obd2, because the way gm wants it. EFI live doesn't want to do it the illegal way, which if I'm not mistaken (which i probably am) to even do that you'd physically have to open the ecm to crack it.

Maybe JohnBoy would care to elaborate a little more? I'm sure he knows more than most of us here.

Nope.

Again EFI Live does not and most likely never support the Bosch E86 ECM used in 2011 and newer diesel trucks.

You nailed it.

The E86 ECM is flashable which is a mandate of OBDII. The trouble is it is not readable. In other words you can not download the stock tune file from the ECM. To down load ECM it must be disassembled and hardware added to retrieve the data. You can get the data from GM which is what H&S is doing I think. They ask you for your vin. The legal trouble is there is huge difference in where one gets the stock tune file. Removing from the ECM which you own is very different then getting it from GM's tis2web website.

Flashing an ECM without having the correct base files can cause all kinds of hell. It can cause things as minor as the A/C to not turn on or it could brick ECM and leave with $50,000 driveway decoration.

I have the H&S on my 2011, really overall have no complaints out of it yet. Been running it for about 6k miles now.
