Default Spending 1 day in NYC, places to take the wife?

So I'm coming out to NYC next weekend, the wife and I will have 2 days to spend but I need to visit family for one of them (in Queens). I want to take her into the city but I have never even really done the tourist stuff besides WTC, Empire State, and Times Square. What are some of the "must see" places I should take her?

Go downtown. Nice and quiet today. Take the ferry and see ellis and the statue. Then do lunch on the water on the west side.

if you go to the empire state building, pay the $25 to go directly to the top...the line is extremely long and not worth waiting for if you only have one day

Try 30 Rock and Times Square. If you are coming over from Queens or surrounding area take the train to Grand Central and walk over from there.

avoid the city, not the hype you expect--i suggest bell blvd in queens-the crazy moose or whatever the fuck its called now,,but bell blvd is great-so is the white eagle on hillside in queens--also just over the border of nassau county and queens is some upscale pubs and bars-great atmosphere

im diggin deep here for places you wanna be as a tourist--only other thing that comes to mind is alley pond park-entrance 3-nice dog park and open area-but cold this time of year

Mc Sorley's Ale House, you have to see it. Little Italy and Chinatown. You have to see the Brooklyn Bridge. Cross into Brooklyn and eat at any pizza place, they're all good. Central Park, Staten Island Ferry, Intrepid Air and Space Museum, the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center,Grenwich Village and I can't remember the name of the deli from the movie When Harry met Sally.

For pizza I already plan on taking her to Gino's down in Howard Beach, I travel 1000+ miles to go to that place, lol.
