Default vic jr 4150 TB, on a STOCK ls1. check out the gians

Stock LS1 (1999) swaped in a 1955 chevy, th400.
LS1 intake, unported TB, (running a 90 bend with a big 9inch cone) LS1 cam, springs, manifolds. Got it running tuned it, made sure it was a good core. Then customer wanted to make it look better with visual things, and wanted this intake.

Only change was a put of the box vic Jr, the rails, and a FAST (accufab) 4150 TB (no spacer) and a 14x3 air cleaner.
Was surprised to see this power curve, 100% stock internal.

Really wanting to put one on my car. No cowl work to worry about since it's already been done, and I know my car would love the gains from 5000rpm and up, as it doesn't ever go below that on launch, street, who cares about street power...

Any opinions on using a elbow and say a 92mm tb instead of the accufab? Im not talking the low profile elbows that are made to avoid the cowl cutting with the sharp bends. Im talking about the taller elbows like the Wilson or 6061 elbow that require notching the cowl. Im wanting to go vic jr. and a 6061 tall elbow and a NW 92mm in the front.

You would def need a cam change if you did! Back when I tuned your car when Josh had it there was no intake restriction all the way up to 7K. MAP readings showed this with a flatline all the way up. Your car would be an awesome candidate for the swap though to see real world results because it's a really good working car! But then again how much more RPM is the stock bottom end going to take? I know some that hold up well with extreme high RPM and I see some that don't.

Try it and see. I have a super vic, and this same TB rails, a carb hat.. 4inch alum tubing..most of the parts already. But have not goteb around to getting it on the car. Also have a tall cast wilson elbow, my 92mm TB bolts to.

This was on a STOCK cam, so its deffinatly not ideal, but it gained a ton of top end over a OEM style

Now swap a FAST 90 or 102 and tells us what happens, I'd be curious. I think that '99 motor also would have picked up measurably with just an LS6 intake swap too.

Im planning on trying it. Just wish someone else tried it before. Lol
I have a FAST 90 now. Still need a tb for it. Im considering selling it. I would get a vic jr and either the elbow w/92mm tb or a vic jr, accufab, carb hat. The elbow setup is cheaper, but if niether setup makes more power or worse, less power then the FAST intake, ill just keep it. I dont have a cam yet, so if I do go vic jr, I will get a custom cam to go with it. This isnt a street car so im not worried about low end.

wow, so a good single plane intake beats out the composite, over the useful part of the rpm curve, surprised face on.
