Default NMCA PRO-STREET CLASS was awesome for 2012 ! Great Program..

This past year we attended 2 NMCA Pro Street races and both were really great events. I would like to thank the entire staff at the NMCA for providing a great venue to race. Concrats to NMCA Pro Street Joe Dunne on winning the championship, Concrats to Chris Rini on being the 1st to the 5's in Pro Street Trip and also to Bill Lutz on also running in the 5's in Pro Street trim. Lots of great cars/teams attending NMCA events and hoping to see more of the same in 2012. Charlie Harmon is a great friend to the heads up world, Somebody sign Charlie up and get him to come to this forum and tell us whats cooking for 2012 ! Again Great Job to all the folks at the NMCA !

It will be interesting to see what happens in 2012. With the addition of west coast races in conjunction with NHRA then it would seem that a blower rule change will be forthcoming. I doubt 29% OD is going to be allowed to stay when GSA is at 14.5.

Heard from some people at PRI that they were not changing od rules or any engine combo rules for that matter. Guess we will have to wait and see.

Thanks Dave and NMCA will be our main focus for 2012. I was told there will be no rule changes at all for 2012 so I expect to see some really fast and really close racing come the 2012 season.

That's a tough one to swallow...NHRA was at 20% overdrive in 2010 and cut back to 14.5% for 2011 to bring parity and it worked very well, so it's difficult to understand how 29% is going to be anything even close to a level playing field. I'm happy to see a well known organization expand their market West but trying to maintain a realistic viewpoint.

Mike I think they just feel they don't get the NHRA type cars to show up and race. Not only that but from what I understand you can't take a blower designed to run at 14% and turn it up to 29 and it work. I have been told these things are very specific on how many rpms they want to spin. 29% allows a team to crank their motor less RPMS and make the same amount of power which will cut the overall cost of running that power adder.

bill you are correct, if you spin the blowers over 20% they do nothing more for you except hurt you. They had to make more changes for the 14.55% od so I would assume anything more than 17% would hurt them. 14.55 is very low! They tear more stuff up, because they have to spin the motor so hard.

I understand but was thinking more along the lines of performance parity. There's not a lot we can do in a nitrous engine that allows us to run it easier, spin it slower, etc. to make it easier on parts and stay competitive. I really wish there was. I don't really care what percentage they end up spinning blowers at as long as it doesn't become a one sided affair for any power adder, which really lowers the element of competition, lowers the spectators viewing "fun factor", and lowers the other competitors drive to show up knowing they are at a huge disadvantage from the get go.

Only time will tell how it works out, but we are looking forward to it no matter what...it's all about having some fun at something we love to do.

Really? I thought they had almost full fields at every event.

Based off of last year NOS went 5.98 turbo 5.99 and blower 6.001 that seems to be pretty dang close racing.

Can't argue with those numbers, but is the rest of the field somewhat balanced out as well? Just curious.

As far as "adding more weight to Nitrous & N/A"... Really???

2,425 & 2,475 (depending upon cubic inches) are out of line? 2,425 is legal GSA weight & it seems to be working. Help me out with this one...

I can only speak for the 2 I attended once my car was done and both were dead locked at the top 4 or 5 positions.

Just remember that come 2012 the 10k turbos they run in GSA are not legal in NMCA so you can't base nos weight on those rules when the turbos are restricted in NMCA which I do agree with. As far as adding weight to NOS or NA there is no way anyone could say that and be serious.
