If it is 68-72 Chevelle, the best place to mount the Holley Black Pump is behind the rear floor board. If you follow the from on the passenger side, there is a solid piece of frame you can mount it on, and the pump tucks up behind the right rear floor pan and bolts to the frame. It is lower than the tank and will gravity feed here

A big block Chevelle guy tried mounting it here where I did, and all has been fine for him just as it was for me. He went 11.60's, but he did have 3/8" hard line, -08AN is just a little bigger than 3/8" steel line

Those pumps like to push fuel not pull it so they say to run a sump so that it doesn't have to suck through the stock outlet
