Default gm L88 snowflake aluminum heads

seems these heads are prone to breaking the rocker arm stud boss. would shaft mounted rockers be less likely to break them?

YEP just had a set of them in the shop was some of a better set of casting i have fixed i told the guy sell them to a resto guy and buy a new set of head .there getting big dollar for them heads. if not all screwed up most are. shaft rockers would help them from busting but then you may want to put better seats in the heads if that as not been done . then new heads then start looking better

Probe Industries or maybe Comp cams. The comp units are pretty good for the money, T&D would be my choice if Budget would allow.....

If you use longer threaded studs , you won't break the exh stands off.

Even the T&D's will let the stands break off, if you don't use longer bolts. They have fixed the short bolt problem in the newer instl kits.

Define Factory heads.....
Can you use pro stock style stuff with GM part numbers?

You could get into a older olds or pontiac head at a fair price and make good/great power.
