Got a stock block, 4" stroke 408W with some nasty 20°'s, a 2828 and a solid roller for a street car (was a race engine and he sold that car) that's going to make Yates stuff blush.... when it's done I'll put some pics of it up.

The 418" Windsor I designed for my dad. He has a '35 Ford Sedan he is supposed to be putting it in:

10:1 compression, small hyd roller cam it made 525 hp and 525 lbs ft and was all done by 5,800. I only wish I had put a bigger cam in it.

I'd sure like to twist it a bit harder. Couple things I'd sure like to try.

Wouldnt it be easier to put a head with the cfm capability to feed 460 inches on the motor and put a milder cam in it? Considering its a street car, that is.

If you were building a 460 inch BBC instead, wouldnt the smart money put more cylinder head on that motor?

I am not being critical, just wondering why a big inch motor would have such a small intake port head on it. Since it will be a street car, a bigger head and milder cam would make it more driveable and perform better overall. I see alot of big inch windsors with heads that would not be put on, say a BBC of similar size. Just thinkin.....

Becuase marketing literature from a few companies has people squarely convinced velocity is the only thing that matters in a cylinder head, and many companys "almost none" offer inline heads with the required volume and port hieght etc to build such inline heads.
