Sunday!!…Sunday!!…Sunday!!…July 3rd at Thompson Raceway Park in Thompson, Oh, marks the running of the Independence Eve Explosion. The Renegade Racing Association will be back in action supporting “The King of Quake” Bob Motz. The series caters to street-type vehicles with 2 heads-up style index classes and 1 heads-up class pitting drag radial tires vs. true 10 inch tires. The RENEGADE RACING ASSOCIATION has grown in popularity with both fans and its competitors due to its close 'Heads-up style' racing and the excitement of street racing [though now held at the track]. The July 3rd race is held in conjunction with TRP's normal bracket racing program and FIREWORKS.
Sometimes, I'm forced to use pictures from other races, to make up the winner's and runner-ups, hope ya don't mind.......just in case if you were wondering about that....
Igot the 62 nova with the primer doors and someone whined about my carpet so I am going to put it in.I have stock style leaf spring suspension with 26x9 tires I rigged up a chevette rack and pinion for steering it probaly weighs 2600lbs but Im running a N/a 357ci 23 degree small block.I ran a 10.54 in the second field eliminations.I'm, here to have fun and race if you run the number than I don't care what you weigh or anything as long as you dont have a delay box or throttle stop. There are guy's slowing down from low nines and more power to them it dosen't bother me.Everybody should just have fun and race. Its not how we make our living!I've met alot of cool people and will be back years to come.
See you guys on the 23 rd I'm heading to the chassis dyno to dial this pig in better so she is not so fat when trying to run the number. Gotta creap up on the tune or we will have more issues with the bbf and we don't want that. I made 4 passes with no issues yaaaaa
I never post on these threads because I don't race rra. But i do race at trp almost every sat in their points program. I would like to say nice job to everyone that organizes and races the renegades. To be honest I was thinking about staying home the days you guys run. I have been to many tracks were new series like this were a total cluster. Hell it used to take our own bracket guys forever to pair up when we used to have q16's. You guys go to the lanes when called and can tell how organized you are. This impressed me last year and even with more cars continues to impress me this year. Its nice to walk over the fence and watch the a little heads up when not running. Anyways good job to the renegades!
Tom what are the chances of us splitting the classes up so we are able to watch each other run? I wanna watch the 10.50 guys and can't because I have to get ready for racing. I'm sure most of us would agree it would be nice to be able to.support each other like that.

Good idea Gerry Jim Curtis [track manager] came over to Tom C.,Chris K.,and myself to see if we could run you guys first like the premier class before Top and Mod ran and before Moats but I will talk to Jim this weekend about this.
As a racer I really don't get to see anyone run, I've got so much going on at the trailer I miss everything.
just would be nice to watch some racing during the day besides if and when I lose and racing is almost over.
We don't park on asphalt side cause its to hot and no room to pull awning off trailer out so we park in grass
I guess I should reply to PM's! haha. If anyone is interested in coming to the rental it's 11-4. Just show up and find the guy named Aaron and pay him. Pretty sure it's $70.
I am going to shoot up there for a little bit just need 1 hit to see if i fixed my problem instead of wasting a good part of day tommrow to find out i did not fix anything ?
Jim and I had tossed around multiple dates - none are a perfect choice - we did talk that maybe a Sunday would be the best option. What does everyone think of that idea? I will try to hammer down a date with Jim Curtis ASAP but let me know what you guys think of the possible Sunday.

if we have a sunday race at trp we need to make sure we bring as many friends and family as possible. we race there for free and we need to show jim that its still profitable to have us there.
