Default SV 632 edelbrock intake on a 582 bracket motor

I have dyno results from the new SV 632 edelbrock intake on a bracket motor 582 cu. in. with a set of RFD edelbrock sportsman heads it made 822 ft lbs tq @ 6100 rpms and 1062 hp @ 7300,7400,7500 rpms superflow 902 dyno put it in a 4-link undercover dragster and ran it this weekend with the track being ok not great it ran 6.97 @ 189.44 with a pretty good head wind so for those who say its too big for a 582 bracket motor here it is. I'm very happy with my edelbrock top end package with the help of RFD and this intake has nothing done to it but gasket match.

I think that dyno is a little conservative. Congrats on the performance.

actually, I think it's the other way around, .. this dyno and it's numbers
equate directly to the track, .. most others I see dont.

Hey Tom thanks buddy nice to hear from you been a long time. As far as the dyno numbers go this is the formula you want to use (et x et x et) take that number put aside then take (weight of car and multiply it by 197.7)then devide that number by the first number you put aside = hp so ie (6.97x6.97x6.97=338.6) 1800#x197.7/338.6=1050.9 HP this seems to be real close try it you'll see i haven't messed with the jetting on the carb yet for on track but prob pretty close thanks to Dale Cubic @ CFM carbs great guy to deal with knows his stuff. Thanks also has to go out to Bob Mason @ Mason Racing engines for putting this motor together for me and doing all the machine work like i said these heads i got from Curtis @ RFD they came off the cnc machine and right into the box they were suppose to go on a motor with old spare parts to sell so nothing extra was done it ran so good i'll keep it might even be faster than the good motor we're working on lol i hope not That motor will also have a set of RFD edelbrock heads and new SV 632 intake on it within the next month or so

Without throwing anyone under the bus, can you say what it was you ran for a intake before, and the Power it made and ET it ran then? Did it pick up down low, or just MPH?

Edelbrock is coming out with a short deck version the would better suit this size motor but this is a tall deck motor. It was a sniper and back to back on dyno the sniper was a little better up to 6700 edelbrock was close behind but after that the edelbrock took off about 20 hp better carried it longer up top and just changing the intake the motor pulled 35 more cfm so with that being said my converter stalls @ 6750 on launch and drops back to 6850 on shift so not too worried about the lower numbers but i will try the sniper back to back on the track soon collecting data right now and playing with converters i put a tighter one in on sunday 300 rpm tighter car ran exactly the same just a little too agressive down low. This car goes 1.01 sixty foot 4.41 to the 1/8 @ 155.60

Good info, I know it's not suppose to work, but I'm going to try one on a 555 bracket motor with alcohol just to prove to myself that it will not work. Alcohol seems to like intakes and carbs that are too big anyway. Will post results when complete.

Are you cutting down the tall block or getting the short deck one?

I'm going to use the tall deck manifold. I forgot to mention that I have a tall deck motor, 14:1 compression ratio, 357 CNC AFR heads, 6.800" rods, and a comp 278 in dur. 285 exh. dur (heavy car 3800 pounds) with .829" in lift and .800 exh. lift. Currently running Ron's 2100CFM Terminator.
