Thats one reason I switched to MOD at least if you win you get full money, not that I ever will see it,but there's always a chance.Slim but still a chance.

Not to knock TRP, but there car count issues really started when they started pro rating the purse.....guaranteed purse = guaranteed car count....Slaughter, Bubba Black, and Dave Maynard are running QCR. Was talking with Bubba and he explained that if finished the season in 10 th, he would win more than he ever got at TRP. And I think he won mod the last 2 years......

A also on another note, thought this was something, never sign any track do this; when you pull into the gate and pay, you get a actual printed receipt with date,$$ amount class on it.... Norwalk don't even do that.... Then they actually tech all cars, 2 guys on each car....efficiently

If I wasn't doing this just for fun I would probably go to Quaker to but being only 7 miles from Thompson and 74 from Quaker its a no brainier for me.When the Bayus family leaves Thompson for Quaker then its time to find a new track

COOKE when I won the top championship in 07 i only got a 200 check. Bubba told me he was going to run qcr. Its closer for him and better payouts. Hell even in 08 their was a q16 almost every night. That meant 50 plus in top. I like trp and hope the racers start coming again.

I think with the the way the econamy is going most of the local racers will stay at TRP. MOD has had a realy good turn out the last 2 weeks.

Until Edgar puts the payouts in, I don't to see it... A friends of mine said when he split with slaughter (0 ?, he still ended up with $600....

If the guy can't afford the place, he needs to sell and get out. The small staff trp has, works its ass off...

To bad the owner isn't more appreciated of his staff and his racers, which are paying customers...

Will agree with that COOK E. I think the pay out's where alot better when Clemson's owned it. The car count in TOP has been down and dosen't look good.

the sad part is those of us that have trp in the back yard, have to support it... once that track closes, it will never reopen...

July 3rd is usually there biigest night of the year... and the UMTR was always a big part of that. alot of folks dont realize it yet but no UMTR this JULY 3rd... maybe some disappointed people this year who will break traditions in years to come...

Any one remember when the last time TRP had commercials on radio station like in the days of old when the place was packed...
here is a link to some great old photos of when the place was packed every weekend...

...wish QCR wasnt so dam far away though...
