National event would be hard to do. The hill would have to be trimmed a lot so the Top Fuelers could get over it without dragging in the middle. The divisional will probably be brought back along with the finals.

I am pretty sure Lagana has been there to test before going from one race to another!!! The hill is actually a pretty gradual incline! If PRP can have a national event then QCMP can. Besides how do you "trim" down the hill???

Yes he has tested there and they are very careful coming up the hill. The problem with the longer dragsters is not the trip up the hill but the crest of the hill is in front of the waterbox. When the cars are sitting with the rear tires in the water the bodies/lower frame rail are very close to being high centered in the middle of the car. Once they are up on the tire it is OK. I believe that Scott Greaver had an issue with his car dragging trying to pull up out of the water.

I can tell you'all that traction was fine last weekend. Two of the fastest cars on the property were in the semi's and one of them was a winner. There are a few kinks to be ironed out in running the program but for the first day with new workers, new timing system, new just about everything, they did a good job.

They have run top fuelers there before no need to level off the hill.

I agree!!!!!! If they put down a new surface and keep the enthusiasm that they have been showing with all the modifications they have done so far IHRA would be foolish not to give them a national event!!! What was up at PRP's national event???? No T/S, T/D,Q/R, S/R etc.etc.

From what I understand, this was kind of a market test to see how the area would support the show. I'd say that that test was passed with extreme velocity - it was great, and the place was packed. 2nd part, IHRA didn't want to take away from the Pro Am and Tournament of Champions race in August.

But at the same time it screwed all the people that race the classes that I mentioned that have been supporting IHRA for all of these years. I bet most of the racers that were at PRP this weekend dont have IHRA memberships or hold a IHRA license.

Nice thing about a National at Quaker is the ability to run 1/4 mile and having plenty of room to get stopped.
