Default 06 F150 Tail light problem

I have a friend that has a F150 and the tail lights quit working. We have checked all of the bulbs and wiring. What are we over looking?

I dont have any experience with those trucks, but, did ya check the fuses under the hood?

The brake lights, unless it's changed ran through the blinker switch ( just on the rear circuit, not the front obviously since there are no brake lights )...

Other than that, I sure cant think of anything... I bet it's simple though..

Hummm, the only thing I can suggest is get your hands on a schematic, and just start from the back, all the way up.. Since it has clearance lights, the ground is good, so it's just the power circuit somewhere...

Without looking at a schematic, I can only guess... But if you have access to any diagnostic equipment, so you can see if the ECM is recieving the signal from the brake switch.. That would help narrow it down, but not really worth tracking one down if you dont have access to it.. ( one other way to check it though, put it on cruise control, tap the brakes, if cruise shuts off, the ECM is getting a signal ).... There should be a plug somewhere under the bed, check that dude out and see if you get power on the drive side of the circuit ( closest to the front of the truck, load side would be to the back )..

Dont know what to tell ya other than that...

had a similar problem with my nephews truck.taillight and brake lights worked but no turn sig in dash,on mirror,or on front, traced it to the multifunctio(turn signal)switch, wires are held into the plug with tiny plastic tabs that did not hold the wire properly, the wire moved down just enough that it would not make a connection.ended up putting a ziptie around the wire to hold it to the one next to it.works fine now but what a pain in the ass to fined. not saying thats youre problem but something to check.

Right below about where the drivers would sit there is large connector for the 2 harness under the truck. Pull them apart and look for the green death. Have seen quite a few get corroded.

X2, pretty common to see the 2 large wiring connectors on the outside of the frame rail, just under the driver area corroded.

i had a 06 monday that the left signal would not work when head lights were on. it was the factory flat 4 trailer light plug under the left side of the rear bumper.
