Jason, maybe I just misread it, but you know how we (racers in general) get, if its not in black and white, ITS GREY. Id add "only conv heads on big blocks" to the list to cover your tail.
I hear ya on the pro mod deal, guess we will see, best of luck to all involved on the whole deal, hoping and praying on 16+ car fields and a great spectator turn out, then maybe we can move it to Saturdays and add outlaw 10.5.

Now Ive got to get busy,
anyone have a litte chief headed 500" deal with 3-4 guns for sale? I think it would be great in my Cadillac, 29.5 and no bars.......... No just kidding, wil probably run the unleashed deal, outlaw deal at OVOS, and few big events down south.

I think the rules are FAR better than they once were. Lets RACE !

I don't think too many people will have very many issues racing the first few races with a "stacked deck" against them as long as Kurt does make some changes as they need to be made to make things competitive. Otherwise, they will go where they can be competitive.

This is how we should define 1/8 Mile SFI Specs

I also found some eighth mile correlations in the rule book dividing Super pro (4.50 and slower) and Advanced ET (4.49 to 3.66)
So if your run 5.20 and up a “Rule Book” Chassis is fine
If you run 5.19 to 4.50 you can run a 25.5 or 25.4@ 3600
If you run 4.49 or quicker you need to be 25.2 @ 3200 or 25.3 @ 3600
So if you’re already are a 25.2 you’re at a higher cert level than the 25.4 cert.
So if you’re running slower than 4.50 you’re ok to run a 25.2 @ 3600 pounds.

This is how the certs supersede each other as the cars go faster.

I am waiting on a conformation from the Division 3 head, but as I read the rule book and the SFI Seminar sheets, it is going to depend on what their chassis tag reads. If they have a Sportsman (blue tag), they are only allowed to run under the weights they are certified for. If they have the Sportsman (purple tag), they are allowed to run either 7.50 & slower @3600 AND 6.00 and slower @ 2800 OR 6.00 and slower @3200lbs.

This is a direct quote:

Other than the purple tag no tag should be punched for more than one ET or for more than one weight. The car is not permitted to compete in a class where the required minimum weight (with driver) exceeds the weight that is indicated on the tag.

Plus, there is a limit of 250 pounds of ballast (permanent and removable)permitted in any car....

But like I said, I am waiting on an email from Div 3 for conformation...

Vanilla, I am certain the email we received will take precedence over the confirmation that you are waiting on. This decision was made at the national level, and from what I understand will become an addendum to the 2011 rule book.

I like the new rules. Everyone should be happy now. I also like the fact that it includes the slower cars of 10.5-12.0 index. They want to play too.

I am excited to get going at this series.

Matt,

Josh is correct. The letter that Kurt drafted after our conversation was sent to Danny Gracia at NHRA in Glendora. This is the way the rules will now read.

I see the point of raising the weights to NHRA Pro Mod weights, but that may detract any lighter ADRL type cars from showing up. I'm not really sure the direction of this class yet. It would be cool to see 3.70 cars, but that may run off your local low 4 second cars. We will have to see what happens.
Just let me know how fast you want the Pro Mod class to be and we'll keep it under that lol.. J/K If my junk runs in the 3's we'll be very happy and just for the record we'll be on 10.5's when we show up. We only have some old junk other people didn't want so lord knows how slow our shit will be.

I just wondered who had a $169 eng. diaper that is made for side mounts, and kevlar inserts so a stock front clip g-body car wont burn it. Jason if you can get ahold of some, i could sell a lot of them cause they are between $350 and $400 for one that will fit. By the way was yours a $169 piece- bet not. This Rule will keep out anybody with a late model car. I.E. mustang, challenger, camaro. If your diaper was that cheap because of the motor plate dont think any of those guys that will put one in there street cars.
