Guess we'll find out for sure in a few weeks.

The last 275 vs 28x10.5 race at SGMP, started with 76 cars and by the time it got to 8 cars left, there was only one car on slicks, and it didn't make it passed that round

Nitrous Oxide: Small block combinations may run any type multi-stage nitrous system. Big Block combinations are limited to a single-stage nitrous system. Forced induction combinations may not run nitrous.

d. Weight Minimums:
i. 4 and 6 cylinder combinations – no minimum.
ii. Small Block Naturally Aspirated – 2500 lbs.
iii. Big Block Naturally Aspirated – 2750 lbs.
iv. Small Block Nitrous Assisted – 2900 lbs.
v. Big Block Nitrous Assisted – conventional head 3200 lbs.
vi. Small Block Forced Induction:
1. Single Supercharger – 3100 lbs.
2. 88mm Turbo – 3100 lbs.
3. Mid-frame 88mm Turbo – 3,200 lbs.
4. Reduced turbo or supercharger – 3,300 lbs.
vii. Big Block Forced Induction:
1. Single Supercharger (3.875” Inducer) – 3300 lbs.
2. 88mm Turbo – 3,300 lbs.
3. Mid-frame 88mm Turbo – 3,400 lbs.
4. Reduced turbo or supercharger – 3,500 lbs.

ANother question for you guys, the rules for the 275 are a little ?, shows 3200 for a conv bbc but doesnt mention a chief style head wieght, does that mean you cant run them or they are at another weight that I overlooked or someone else overlooked?
DOesnt matter to me but since there was a delay int he rules and you dont want everyone "up in the air" on race day it may need to be cleared up.
thanks, scott
ps pooch, gonna go back and update me on my earlier post? thanks hippie!

Kinda looks like they are saying any head in NA, but only a conventional is allowed when you add a power adder like NOS. Good time to ask though !

Scott the 275 class doesn't allow non conventional heads for Big Block applications. What post are you refering to?

In regards to the Chassis Cert questions and concerns, the information below is directly from the heads of NHRA

This is how we should define 1/8 Mile SFI Specs

I also found some eighth mile correlations in the rule book dividing Super pro (4.50 and slower) and Advanced ET (4.49 to 3.66)
So if your run 5.20 and up a “Rule Book” Chassis is fine
If you run 5.19 to 4.50 you can run a 25.5 or 25.4@ 3600
If you run 4.49 or quicker you need to be 25.2 @ 3200 or 25.3 @ 3600
So if you’re already are a 25.2 you’re at a higher cert level than the 25.4 cert.
So if you’re running slower than 4.50 you’re ok to run a 25.2 @ 3600 pounds.

This is how the certs supersede each other as the cars go faster.

Ummmm, the one i copied in the post just above this, not na stuff,
it never says you cant run cheifs it just has the weight with conv head, kinda looks like you can run chiefs w/ a weight penalty, which is a good idea in my opinion. Just might want to clerify this.
thanks, NOW look at my post about ovos, HIPPIE, lol!

I thought I was clear. Sorry about that. At this time there are NO non conventional heads allowed on Big Block combinations in 275 vs 28's (True Street) As for the Pro Mod weights. Kurt and I talked about that and no decision to move weight has been made. I see the point of raising the weights to NHRA Pro Mod weights, but that may detract any lighter ADRL type cars from showing up. I'm not really sure the direction of this class yet. It would be cool to see 3.70 cars, but that may run off your local low 4 second cars. We will have to see what happens.
